The CFCW Social’s December Player of the Month: Guro Reiten

Guro Reiten has been named the CFCW Social’s Player of the Month for her outstanding displays this December in Chelsea blue. Guro has looked impressive during a hectic month for the team, proving to everyone why she is the best at what she does.

Guro’s best December performance was undoubtedly against Leicester. Bagging herself four assists and the opening goal in that game, an eight-nil thrashing of the Midlands side. This performance raised the question of whether Guro is currently one of Europe’s best players. All Chelsea fans would say unquestionably say yes, and I believe fans of other teams would as well. Guro appears to have grown a lot this season, building on the excellent performances we all witnessed last season.

Her performances in the UWCL in December also proved why she is one of the best in the game. Her penalty against Real Madrid put us back in the game and allowed us to take a crucial point home. That game was not the team’s best performance, but she shone against the Spanish team.

Guro proved in December why she is such an important member of this team and how her absence makes a difference in team performances. Chelsea fans can count themselves fortunate to have Guro on their side because she is a difficult opponent to face. This makes it easier for us to watch the team because we know we have someone as talented as Guro to assist our strikers and even score goals herself.

Her contract extension, which she signed in the summer, is even more exciting after watching her so far this season. Knowing we have three more years gets us all eager to see what is next to come from her. Guro’s fine form will undoubtedly continue after the Christmas break. This is certainly something for fans to look forward to in the new year.
