Lauren James has been named the CFCW Social’s November Player of the Month for her excellent month. The superstar has impressed with her scoring and her on-field development. Since moving to Chelsea Lauren has grown and matured. She has been able to show it to the fans thus far this season and in November.
Only three games were played in November starting with a match against Lauren’s former team, Manchester United. Lauren scored a great goal in this game. However, her celebration of kissing the Chelsea badge in front of the United supporters was, in my opinion, even better. This demonstrated her happiness and ease at Chelsea, which will only make her a better player.
After joining Chelsea, Lauren has been laser-focused on her development. These games in November have allowed us to witness that. She also impressed spectators during the international break showing off her presence and her power on the ball to beat out opponents.
Lauren played the entire 90 minutes against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. This was the perfect location for her to display her abilities. Lauren played well, demonstrating her strength on the ball, and winning us a penalty in the first half. This performance showed us that defenders are worried about her presence. This was obvious with the attempts to close her down and take her off the ball. With her power and skill, the only way to do so is a foul, which did not go to plan for them in this game.
Although she did not start the game against Real Madrid, the difference was noticeable when she came on. Lauren has become an important member of this team. With Emma and the rest of the club`s faith in her, she will only get better. Pernille’s extended absence provides a chance for Lauren and the rest of the team to step up and further impress us all.
Lauren still has some development to do, but November was a great month for her, and she will only get better. We hope to see her win more POTMs soon.
