The CFCW Social’s Player of the Season: Guro Reiten

Guro has been named the CFCW Social’s Player of the Season for her outstanding season, adding to her goal tally and providing assists.

Guro is already well-known for her ability to assist goals, particularly for Sam, but this season she has taken it a step further and stood out from the rest. She has proven that she is one of the best in the world. She has also taken her game to the next level by adding some spectacular goals to her repertoire.

The connection between Guro and Sam has been dangerous this season. The pair’s mix of goals and assists has been crucial to Chelsea’s success. Having faith in their ability giving Guro the freedom to do what she wants. She knows where Sam will be and exactly where our Aussie superstar expects those crosses into the box.

Guro has 13 goals and 19 assists this season across all competitions. Her most goals and assists have come in the league. A cool 11 WSL assists this season, which is the most in the league. This comes as no surprise to Chelsea fans; we all know how talented she is in that department. It is fantastic to see her at the top of this list, where she belongs.

Chelsea fans have been frustrated on social media because we know how much she deserves the credit after her performances this season. Seemingly not getting her fair dues we knew she deserved this accolade more than anyone.

Guro’s goal against Lyon away in our UWCL quarter-final first leg was pivotal in her season. It was a crucial goal that helped keep the team’s confidence to advance further in this competition. The confidence shown in front of the goal was outstanding.

She has so many assists that it’s difficult to pick just one, being able to watch them all back is a treat. This gives us fans the chance to debate which one we love most.

Guro has been a standout since she arrived in 2019 and has improved even more this season. Emma has stated that she is her player of the season. Emma identifying her brilliance in a solid season demonstrates what a fantastic job she has done.

This may not a widely regarded award, Guro deserved to receive at least one for her efforts this season. I hope Guro knows she has won our award, she should be aware of how well-liked she is among Chelsea fans.

I am confident that we will see the same brilliance from her next season as we did this season. It would be difficult to pick a favourite moment from this season so let’s just say, show us what you’ve got next season Guro.
